Our members form lifetime friendships as we have become one big family. For more information about Who's Who Singles Arizona and how we started, please go to our About Us Page. A NOTE from the WWSA PresidentDear Members,
Happy New Year !!! I know that your Christmas celebrations last month were very different than all previous years. Well, I am glad that is over. 2020 will be something to forget and also remember for the rest of our lives. As I sit to write this I am so looking forward to obtaining an appointment to get a COVID-19 vaccine shot. I expect to get the first shot before January 15th. I am expecting that by March 1, 2021 each of us who would like the vaccination will have had, at least, the first of the two immunization shots. That should result in WWSA starting up activities again by Mid-March, if not sooner. Let’s think about what might evolve if we are all vaccinated by March 1, 2021. I think that Helene would agree that her Target Date for our FIRST Camaraderie would be on Wednesday March 1st. Anne Klink, with her work with Micki McDonald and Helene, will probably be Targeting late March or Mid -April timeframe for our first Dinner-Dance activity. I expect that golf and bridge might even start up sometime in late February. As I expressed in my last letter, this has been a Long Game for all of us. Roughly 8% of our members tested positive for COVID since March 2020. We are blessed, however, that no one lost their life. Amen. Going forward, I expect that our appreciation for each other will be even greater than before. The social interaction that each of us draws from attending any WWSA function has been sorely missed. I, for one, will be very happy to see the many smiling WWSA faces in the coming months. Looking forward to seeing each of you very soon ……… Bill S Important Upcoming Dates 2020 On Hold, McCormick Resort Millennium - Lakeside Room Holiday Dinner Dance Music by Jym Caputo Check back, dates may change Click here for information regarding upcoming events Click here for a complete calendar of events For more info contact us at Info@wwsa.net. WHY WWSA IS GOOD FOR YOUR HEALTHResearcher George Slavich, of the University of California, who studies human social genomics, says that our genes can actually be turned on or off depending on our social environments.
In his discussion on social genomics, Dr. Slavich says that social stress is a stronger predictor of chronic disease-related mortality than physical inactivity, alcohol use, and smoking. This is powerful. It means that social connection matters. The people we choose to spend time with matters! I also know that creating healthy community is not effortless. Many of my patients tell me that lack of support is one of the biggest obstacles they face when deciding to make a lifestyle shift. I take this feedback to heart. Community is so important to me. I have seen firsthand how powerful and transformative supportive groups can be. When my patients have a support system, they are far more likely to sustain weight loss and feel better. The right community can also help you sustain lifestyle and behavior changes that are so important to long-term success, health, and happiness. Being connected to others is a necessary ingredient for health, just like food, water, air, sleep, or movement. |
We can laugh with you or without you, but it is more fun with you.
So, join us at all our events! OPPORTUNITY:

NEWS FROM ADOT MOTOR VEHICLE DIVISION DON’T GET GROUNDED
On October 1, 2020 new federal ID regulations will take effect at TSA airport security checkpoints.
The new federal rules will require air travelers to have a federally-compliant form of ID in order to pass security clearance.
Arizonans have a choice to get the Travel ID. This credential is a driver license or ID that has a gold star on the top right-hand corner, and getting one is perhaps the most convenient solution.
In order to get one, you can make an appointment at www.servicearizona.com for any MVD office. Walk-ins are also welcome. Or you may visit an Authorized Third Party driver license location.
To learn more about the documents you need to bring, please visit www.aztravelid.com
October of 2020 will be here soon. Don't wait and don't get grounded. Get the Travel ID!
